OUTDOOR PLAY

At Algonquin Preschool, we believe that it is important to enjoy play-time both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting). Our outside play area consists of climbers, slides, a sandbox, soccer net, tricycles, balls and jumpropes.

Field Trips

Field Trips are an important part of the preschool experience. Local area attractions are visited, such as a pumpkin patch, conservation area, wildlife preserve, and grocery store. A train ride from Barrington to Crystal Lake has always been a 4 year-old class favorite. Locations are chosen every year dependent upon age of students, class size, and current curriculum. Parents are always encouraged to join the class on field trips.

Every year, all students and their family members are invited to participate in holiday parties, Family Fun Day, and the end of the year picnic.

Lunch and Discovery Time

For an additional fee, parents of preschool children have the option to extend their child's school day by signing up on a monthly basis to stay from 11:30 - 1:30 pm for 1 to 3 days (Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday) for our Lunch and Discovery.

During Lunch and Discovery Time students bring their own lunch and activities are planned by the teacher. This is a shortened version of a preschool day - story time, science/math activities, art and free choice activities chosen by the child, etc.

Students make new friends and meet new teachers and participate in new activities. Parents have more time to run errands and have peace of time knowing their child is with our qualified staff.
