Algonquin Preschool November 2017 Newsletter
~As the weather gets colder, please send outdoor clothing for your children every preschool day. When it’s clear outside and 25 degrees or higher we will go outside. Please change the extra clothes your child has at school for warmer ones.
~Since the weather is getting colder please change the extra clothes you have at school for warmer ones.
~On days when the weather is wet, please feel free to use the elevator (especially if you have younger siblings with you). The steps do get wet and slippery. Use the hand rails when using the stairs.
~We enjoyed hosting our 6th Annual Family Fun Night on October 13th. We hope everyone that was able to attend had as much fun as we did. Thank you to all the teachers who volunteered their time to make the night such a success.
~Thank you for all who participated in our 4th Book Drive/Sale. We raised $210.00 to purchase Giant Mystery Ball Maze, Mystery Match Game, & Family Counter Cards. The Book drive was a success due to your generosity.
~Thank you for all the gourd and pumpkin donations. The children really enjoyed painting with them, washing them, and playing “Farmer’s Market”.
~We will be having monthly fire drills. Your children may be telling you about how we line up by the classroom door, walk out to the fence (our meeting place) and count everyone to make sure we are all there.
~Pre-packaged treats or a small token may be brought in to celebrate a birthday. These treats will be sent home with your child’s classmates.
~ Please leave your child’s communication clip on his/her school bag. We use this clip to send and receive information. Please send your tuition payments in the tuition envelope.
~Please call the preschool office if you will be late to pick-up your child as young children may become anxious if you are not prompt. Should you be consistently late you will be charged $1 a minute after 11:35.
~On December 20th & 21st we will have our annual Winter Parties. The Winter Parties will be held from 9:30-10:30 with parents and family. (There will be no class time that day.) We will sing some holiday songs, share some holiday treats together, and Santa will be visiting. Bring your cameras.
~Dad’s- We will be having our annual Dad’s Day on March 1st & 2nd from 9:00-10:30. On Dad’s Day your preschooler will bring their dad (or grandpa, uncle or other special person) to school with them. You will be able to participate in a preschool day with your child.
~Food Pantry Donations- If you would like to donate food items or personal care items, we will be collecting them November 6th-15th. All donations will be going to the Lake in the Hills Food Pantry. The collection box will be under the Parent Bulletin Board at the bottom of the stairs.
~Please make sure your child goes to the bathroom before they come to school. This helps with our circle time at the beginning of class.
~If your child attends M/W/F’s and would like to come 5 days a week we do have openings. We feel the 5 day program helps children adjust more easily to the full day kindergarten programs at all the elementary schools. If you would like your child to attend 5 days a week please let us know. Tuition for the 5 day program is $275.
~We do have openings in our preschool program. If know of someone who would be looking for a preschool please have them come in for a visit.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
